We started our last unit of the season, computational thinking and Computer Science by playing SET. How game of SET Powers Computational Thinking?     •    Pattern Recognition: Identifying consistent similarities or differences across four variables (color, shape, number, shading) to find a match.
    •    Decomposition: Breaking down a complex card into its individual attributes to analyze them one by one.
    •    Abstraction: Filtering out visual “noise” to focus strictly on the logical rules that define a valid set.
    •    Algorithmic Thinking: Creating a mental “search algorithm” by picking two cards and calculating the exact requirements for the third.
    •    Logical Evaluation: Using boolean logic (All the Same OR All Different) to verify data sets instantly.

Edutopia’s Paige Tutt wants to know: What brilliant uses of tech have you seen this year?

Paige says: "Technology moves fast (that's an understatement, really), and we trust you all to point us toward what's actually making a difference inside your classrooms. We want to continue to spotlight what you consider the best of the best, and only the best of the best.

This year, I'm wondering again if you can so generously share your reflections on what brilliant uses of technology you've seen this year!

This can be something you do yourself or a way to shout out a colleague who really deserves some recognition for their ingenuity and innovation. No idea is too big or too small!"

Happy or as it often becomes in schools, Dot Week.
The at the Schindler Ed Center invites you to create your own dot and reflect on how you are making and will continue to make your mark as a future educator.
For an added challenge, head to the Technology Playground (back of the studio) and try coding our Finch robot to draw a circle. It is not as easy as it sounds!
