🍂Fall 2020 Greeks Give Back Spotlight: UCSB Kappa Sigma Philanthropy Chair, Daniel Roberts. We asked Daniel why he was inspired to run for philanthropy chair:
"I have always enjoyed giving back, whether its the local or wider community. In high school, I did 4 community service trips to Eastern Europe, one in Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovakia where we helped build infrastructure for rural communities and improve their quality of life. During my winter break, I would also help the local homeless population of Frankfurt, Germany by providing them with bags filled with food and warm clothes. After seeing the impact which I had I wanted to replicate my presence in the community at college and Kappa Sigma has allowed me to continue with rewarding opportunities such as our philanthropy to aid the veterans."

🌞GREEKS GIVE BACK SPOTLIGHT: UCSB Kappa Sigma Alumni Relations Chair Phillip Huynh '22 🌞

Phillip is a 1st-generation college student from Garden Grove, CA. He is a part of two scholarship organizations: the Angels Baseball Foundation and the Simon Family Foundation. With a passion for both politics and public policy, Phillip hopes to one day become involved in law as a legislator or attorney back in his hometown. His favorite hobbies include hanging out with his fraternity and other friends, going to music festivals, off-roading in the mountains, and rafting on the beach. Ever since quarantine has begun, however, Phillip has been keeping busy by playing video games, going on live zoom chats with family and friends, working out at his makeshift home gym, and deepening the engagement between Kappa Sigma alumni and collegians.

Last week the brothers of Kappa Sigma and the Australian Student Association hosted a bake sale fundraiser to support Australia in their fight against the devastating bushfires, and we are proud to say that we raised over $450 in support of this great cause. Thank you to our very own Daniel Roberts for making this event happen and everyone who came out to support us 💚❤️
