We are excited to celebrate a major achievement from our program! 🎉
🏆 Adedayo Adeyeye (EMR PhD Student) and their interdisciplinary team earned 1st Place in the Bronco Sustainability Challenge at Western Michigan University.
Their project focused on developing a recyclable and compostable coffee packaging solution that reduces plastic waste and supports a circular sustainability model. ♻️☕
This success reflects the power of collaboration, innovation, and real-world problem solving.
👏 Congratulations to the team and everyone who supported this journey!

🎤 AERA Round Table Presenters:
Mwila Mvula and Joshua Amponsah

Their paper, “Empowering a New Generation: Evaluation of the U.S. State Department’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) in Sub-Saharan Africa as a Future-Focused Educational Initiative,” examines how evaluation can be used to understand leadership development and educational initiatives across contexts.

This special issue supports new authors, especially those who have never published in an academic journal, by connecting them with experienced scholars and mentors to advance high-quality, cost-inclusive evaluation scholarship and practice.

🎉 Celebrating EMR Excellence!

Congratulations to Albert Munyanyi for representing the Evaluation, Measurement, and Research (EMR) program at the Graduate College Research Poster Competition at Western Michigan University!

🏆 Albert was among the students who tied for second place, earning a $250 prize.

His research, “Recurrent Marginality Across Educational Transitions,” explores important themes related to belonging, social capital, and educational experiences.
