The 2026 Cyber Action Forum brings together active and retired military leaders, Government civilian leadership, construction firms supporting DoD projects, and cybersecurity professionals to confront today’s threats and drive real-world solutions for military construction and operations.

Swing Dance Lesson and Social at Paradise Tango

Date and Time: Tuesday, July 8th, 2025 @ 8:00pm
Location: Paradise Tango – 2600 S King Street, Honolulu, 2nd Floor in Puck’s Alley. There is parking in the Puck’s Alley structure or nearby street parking.

The SAME Honolulu Young Members Committee invites you to step out on the dance floor for a Swing Dance Lesson and Social at Paradise Tango! Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or have two left feet, this is your chance to try something new, get moving, and connect with fellow SAME members in a fun and relaxed setting.

A professional instructor will guide us through the basics of swing dancing, followed by an open social dance session. No partner or prior experience needed—just bring your energy and a willingness to have fun!

💡 Fun Fact: People who are good at math often pick up swing dancing quickly—both rely on rhythm, timing, and pattern recognition. Engineers, this might be your hidden talent!

Cost: FREE. SAME Honolulu Post will cover the $5 admission fee! This is another chance to let loose and enjoy an evening with your fellow SAME members and other industry professionals.

Being a Young Member ( < 39 ) is not a requirement; mentors are welcome too.

Bringing a Non-SAME member friend is encouraged. The Non-SAME member should work with an interest in military engineering, architecture, construction, and related fields or be part of a uniformed service.

Mahalo to everyone who joined us for our June luncheon, where we had the pleasure of hearing from Dr. Roger Babcock, Director of the City & County of Honolulu’s Department of Environmental Services. Dr. Babcock delivered an informative presentation on the future of Oʻahu’s waste management, focusing on the essential role of the H-POWER Waste-to-Energy Plant and the looming closure of the Waimānalo Gulch Landfill in 2028. Dr. Babcock discussed the evolving strategy and next steps in light of this new legislative landscape.

🎓 Scholarship Opportunity Announcement! 🎓

The SAME Honolulu Post is excited to announce our 2025 scholarship opportunities! We’re offering 4-year scholarships and 1-year scholarships to support students pursuing degrees in Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Ocean Engineering, and Environmental Sciences.

Scholarships Available:

4-year scholarships worth $6,000 – for current high school seniors entering their freshman year of college
1-year scholarships worth $1,500 – for continuing college students and veterans

Eligibility:

Students must be pursuing or enrolled in an accredited program for one of the listed majors
Military affiliation is NOT required

We are excited to announce the launch of the SAME Honolulu Post’s new International Dining Group (IDG)!

This is a wonderful opportunity for all food enthusiasts to come together, explore new flavors, and savor culinary experiences while fostering camaraderie. Join us for our inaugural IDG event on January 30, 2025, at 5:30 PM at San Paolo Pizza and Wine.

Together we will embark on a tantalizing “Pizza Experience” where we’ll sample a diverse selection of pizzas inspired by the owner’s rich Italian-Brazilian heritage. San Paolo Pizza and Wine is located at 1765 Ala Moana Blvd Honolulu, HI 96815. Parking is co-located in the same building (Marina Parking Garage) and parking validation is available by the restaurant host upon arrival (or departure).

For parking, turn makai (towards the ocean, south) at the intersection of Holbron Ln and Ala Moana Blvd then take an immediate right into the parking garage past Red Lobster. Reservations are limited to 25 guests.
