On behalf of Danielle Collier, Thee JSU Alumni of Kansas City are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for The Reginald M. Collier Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will award **a one-time 💰 $1,000 grant** to a student from Kansas City, attending Jackson State University in the Fall of 2026. Scholarship applications will be accepted through **May 1, 2026. **
The inspiration for this scholarship originated from Reginald’s children, Danielle Collier and Reginald Collier II, his wife Courtney Collier, and his late mother, Vivian Collier. Reginald was born and raised in Starkville, Mississippi, and graduated from Jackson State University. He later relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where he met his wife and raised his family.
From 2008-2009, Reginald bravely fought a battle with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, unfortunately passing away in 2009. His family sought to create a lasting legacy in his memory, establishing this memorial scholarship in 2022.
Reginald placed great value on education and investing in youth and young adults. Having personally experienced the challenges of funding post-secondary education, his family aims to alleviate educational costs for a Jackson State University student through this scholarship.
