tectural Engineering and Environmental Engineering round out the core program offerings in the College. These programs offer curricula that combine a solid theoretical basis with hands-on laboratory and field-based experiences. We provide a challenging educational experience that blends teamwork and communication skills in a project-based learning environment. Graduate program offerings in the College are available in all the departments and are research focused in exciting multi-disciplinary areas such as environmental engineering and sustainability, high performance computing, energy systems, robotics and materials. The College is home to a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded center of research excellence in science and technology focused on research on environmental sustainability in semi-arid coastal areas (CREST-RESSACA) and a high performance computing center (HPCC). To support cutting edge research, the College has invested in faculty and research laboratories. The faculty members in the College have been instrumental in bringing federal and state funded research grants and contracts worth over $3 million. Since 2002, the research expenditures in the College have increased by a factor of eight. Dotterweich College of Engineering produces highly sought-after engineers, conducts relevant research and is an active member of the community. The College is a leading provider of exciting and foundational engineering education in South Texas and is located on the historic campus of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The College is named for a pioneer in Natural Gas Engineering and a founding dean, Dr. Frank H. Dotterweich. The College started in 1936 and is built on the legacy of Doc Dotterweich and his colleagues as Texas A&I University. Today, the College is home to over 1300 aspiring graduate and undergraduate engineering and technology majors. Our alumni have achieved significant professional successes and are spread all over Texas, and throughout the nation and the globe.
