Hey NHAG members! The National Endowment for the Humanities has two grant opportunities that might be right for your organization: Preservation Assistance Grants for Smaller Institutions and Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections.

The Preservation Assistance Grants are intended for small and mid-size institutions to improve their ability to care for and manage their humanities collections by funding assessments, consultations, trainings, purchase of supplies, and assistance developing policies and procedures. Up to $10,000. Applications due January 9, 2025.

Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections: This program offers three levels of funding for environmentally sustainable projects that improve preservation of humanities collections, reduce energy consumption, and strengthen an institution’s ability to anticipate and respond to disasters. Ranges from $50,000-$350,000. Applications due January 10, 2025.

Grants are so important to keeping NH's archives, historical societies, and libraries running. Huge thanks to NEH for continuing to fund our historical preservation projects!

NEH’s Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections program is accepting applications through Jan. 10, 2025. This program helps cultural institutions preserve collections through environmentally sustainable preventative care strategies. Up to $350K, Implementation II; $100K, Implementation I; $50K. Optional drafts for comments are due Dec. 5, 2024. Read more: bit.ly/SCHC_NEH .

Huge congrats and thanks to UNH Library staff for making so much New Hampshire history publicly accessible! 👏 This is an excellent resource for anyone researching NH history and genealogy.

The University Archives at UNH recently wrapped up a massive multi-year project that digitized and organized all known annual reports for every town in New Hampshire, an undertaking that essentially reached every municipality, past and present, throughout the state.

Time flies when you're in the archive! And it's time once again for our Fall Workshop!

Join us at the Peterborough Town Library or on Zoom as we host a plethora of fantastic speakers who will tackle our topic: Unplanned Obsolescence.
