Enormously proud to have my poem "It Begins This Way" out today from Does It Have Pockets today! Their team took a chance on a long poem I thought would never find a home, and to see it lovingly published in an outlet I love reading feels like coming home. Thank you, Camille & DIHP Team!

My poem "All The Damage I Haven't Done" has been accepted by Flip the Script Publishing for 'Darling Nikki,' their forthcoming anthology of creative works celebrating the life and legacy of amazing poet Nikki Giovanni. My poem is a response to her poem "Allowables," which has haunted me ever since I read it. I am deeply honored & humbled to be included in a tribute to a poet who has meant so very much to me. Gonna go cry about it now.

I adore Philly Poetry Chapbook Review (and credit them for my now regular poetry overspending), and am really proud to have five poems in the latest issue, all improved through Adien & team's careful and kind editorial work. You can read "Si No Sana Hoy, Sanará Mañana," "Inflammation As Girl," "Spivey’s II," "Mothers," and "Brentwood’s Daughter" there now!

Read five poems by Colleen S. Harris, our third biweekly poet of the Winter 2026 issue, along with a few words about "Inflammation As Girl."

Things were so hectic, I missed out on sharing my poems "Funeral Shoes (for Shara)," "Hobbyhopper," and "Christmas Cake," published in Does It Have Pockets in December 2025.

I'm choosing to start this new year celebrating and sharing both these personal poems and the outlet - please read the other work DIHP has published beyond mine. They're an incredibly thoughtful editorial team, and superkind to their writers (I quite literally cried at how personalized my acceptance letter was). I have another piece coming out from them in March (stay tuned!) and could not be more honored!

Y'all - I am really excited to have my poem "Theories of Rain" in the latest issue of Hood of Bone Review! It's got all the best of things in this poem: mythology, Ireland, Kentucky, and bourbon! It's about halfway down the page - you can ctrl+f "colleen" and it'll get you there if you're on a machine. You should be reading their every issue, Editor Grace Ezra has an amazing eye/ear for beautiful work.

These are the marks that make poetry irreducible to me. It's capacity for embodiment; because it imposes no limits on wild good things or wild bad (or our passions for them). It enables us to create not only meaning, but sometimes truth itself: able to be uncovered beneath the lid of a deli tub ...
