At Touro University Nevada's Occupational Therapy Doctoral program, it is our mission to educate caring and competent occupational therapists.

For those who experience adversity because of physical, mental, or developmental challenges, an occupational therapist (OT) teaches skills and ways to adapt for the successful accomplishment of daily tasks. Through Touro University Nevada's School of Occupational Therapy, it is our mission to educate occupational therapists who are adept at making a positive impact on a diverse array of patients.

Today our third year students had the opportunity to volunteer at Three Square food bank as part of their social justice class.

That’s a wrap on Fall Prevention Awareness week! Our occupational therapy students along with colleagues in physical therapy, pharmacy, nursing and dietetics participated in several fall prevention screenings throughout the month of September. We collectively screened over 300 older adults in Nevada.

Last week, our students along with UNLV PT, attended a health fair for low income seniors and completed 75 fall risk and cognitive screenings. Recommendations were provided to all participants to decrease risk of falls in the future.

Last night several of our students had the honor of sharing their fieldwork and capstone experiences working with older adults and the dementia population highlighting the value of OT! Last night we recognized the Class of 2026 inductees to Pi Theta Epsilon- the honor society for occupational therapy students. The mission of PTE is to advance research and scholarship within the profession. Congratulations to Shantelle, Araceli, Jessica, Shelby, Rana, Ciera, Llesenia, Christina, and Caitlyn!

This conference will be held onsite in Orlando, Florida, from March 21 to 23, 2024. Scholarship winners will receive reimbursement for the full registration to the world's largest gathering of OT practitioners.
