Triad area freshmen send-off in Winston-Salem was another wonderful event. Sending our second son, John Raines (far right, back row) to Western Carolina University. WCU and its alumni and staff know how to make new students feel welcome.

Please introduce yourself when you find this page. Tell us about your WCU student and yourself. I'll start.
I am Jill Doss-Raines. I have 2 WCU students. Wade, my older son, is a rising senior set to graduate in Dec. 2024. He is a sports management and marketing double major. He has worked with the WCU sports marketing department and the Catamount Club for every sports home game since his freshman year. John is my incoming freshman. He plans to double major in criminal justice and forensic science. He is anxiously awaiting his dorm assignment and learning about his roommate.

Hello Davidson County friends. This is Jill Doss-Raines. This page is for you if you have a child at Western Carolina University. I want Davidson County parents and students of WCU to have a way to connect in case one of us has a question or needs a favor. Our students will forget items, such as room keys or their Cat Card, clothing, computers, etc. and hopefully one of us can help out the other without the forgetful student having to make another three-hour trip back home to Davidson County.
