Tonight at 6:30 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium, J. Kalu Osiri, director of international business and associate professor of practice in management at Nebraska, and Eric Buchanan, director of strategic partnerships for the Buffett Early Childhood Fund, will be presented the Chancellor's Fulfilling the Dream awards during the MLK Week keynote address.

Nebraska's J. Kalu Osiri and Eric Buchanan have been selected as 2018 Chancellor's Fulfilling the Dream Award recipients for their exemplary action in promoting the goals and vision of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

Tonight at 7:30 pm in the Nebraska Union, Catherine Wilson, associate professor of Law will moderate a panel that includes Sriyani Tidball, assistant professor of practice in advertising and public relations at UNL; Patrick Jones, associate professor of history and ethnic studies at UNL; UNL graduate student Carnetta Griffin and UNL undergraduate student Dani Young. They will discuss what Dr. King's dream means in today's world and how it affects the state, nation and world.

Martin Luther King Jr. Week activities at UNL include a performance by Belmont Elementary students, a service learning project, an awards celebration and a panel discussion on "Dr. King's Dream in 2016."

Don't miss tonight's Fulfilling the Dream Award reception to honor Dr. Debra Hope - 6:30 pm at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center. There will be free food and it's open to the public!

UNL's Debra Hope will receive the Chancellor's Fulfilling the Dream Award for her work improving mental health services for the LGBT community. The award is given to those who have contributed to UNL or the greater community in promoting the goals and vision of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
