Corn Coast Brewing just dropped Gene-ius Selection, a West Coast Pale Ale brewed with Margie, an experimental hop variety from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Hop Breeding Program.
This is a huge win for local hops, local research, and local beer. Go support Corn Coast, drink some science, and celebrate Nebraska-grown ingredients!

FRIDAY BEER DROP 1/9
We've got a triple beer release this Friday!
MODERN MELODY // 6.2% abv Hazy IPA with Citra. Fresh batch available Friday. Canned today 1/8!
TOKYO RICE PILSNER // 4.4% ABV Rice Lager with a balance of light malt, clean rice character, and a subtle hoppiness from some late addition New Zealand Motueka.
GENE-IUS SELECTION // 5.9% abv West Coast Pale Ale featuring locally grown experimental hop variety Margie! The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Hop Breeding Program works to develop hop varieties that thrive in Midwest growing conditions, and Margie is an experimental hop from this program. Named after the breeder’s dog, Margie, who is affectionately known as a beast, this hop has lived up to its name in the field with vigorous growth, strong performance, and high yields across Nebraska. Margie was grown and evaluated in collaboration with local hop farms, including Christensen Hop Farm in Fort Calhoun and SkyBound Hops in Denton, Nebraska. Our beer server Kristina also happens to be the hop breeder who developed this variety and you may even catch her serving the beer if you want to talk hops!
