Today marked the wrap-up of this year’s Mobile Institute on Scientific Teaching (MoSI) at UA Little Rock.

Faculty from across campus participated in an interactive workshop where they shared ideas, discussed what they learned throughout the week, and explored how university leadership can help support their goals for creating more active and engaging learning environments for students. 👏

The Department of Construction Management & Civil and Construction Engineering celebrated its Spring 2026 graduates this week with a longstanding tradition: the Topping Out Ceremony. 🏗️🌲

Rooted in historic Scandinavian building customs, topping out ceremonies recognize the completion of a structure and the people who made it possible. At UA Little Rock, the tradition honors students completing their degrees and preparing to enter the construction and engineering industries.

More than 400 Scouts spent their Saturday on campus learning and growing at the Merit Badge University!

Over 40 merit badges were offered ranging in topics from First Aid and Citizenship to Chemistry and Robotics.

Spencer Knight chose UA Little Rock for a practical reason: graduating debt-free through the Donaghey Scholars Program, giving him the freedom to focus on his future.

What he found was much more. A double major in electrical and computer engineering and physics, Knight says living on campus helped him grow more confident, curious, and engaged. Those connections opened doors to internships, including a NASA opportunity through the Arkansas Space Grant Consortium that helped shape his career path.

Through a series of sessions, faculty across the Donaghey College of STEM have been coming together to explore how AI can support teaching and learning.

Today’s session highlighted real examples, syllabus language, and what’s next at the university level.

Even though this was our last session (for now!), the conversation is far from over. Faculty are continuing to collaborate, experiment, and define what meaningful AI use looks like in the classroom. 💻
