Since 1990, ASPSF has provided scholarships and support services to single parent students across Arkansas. Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund is a nonprofit dedicated to ending single parent poverty through higher education. ASPSF awards scholarships and provides support services to empower low-income single parents to graduate with a new degree or certification and pursue a career with family-supporting wages.

Michael is pursuing a career in physical and health education, while Angel is working toward a career in electronics technologies with the hope of having a career closer to home. Both are balancing parenthood, education, and everyday responsibilities as they work toward a more stable future for their families.

ASPSF June 2026 Student of the Month: Kayla Coady ✨🎓

From caring for a premature newborn in the NICU to crossing the graduation stage, Kayla Coady’s journey is a powerful testament to perseverance, determination, and a mother’s love.

This spring, Kayla graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a degree in Social Work while balancing the challenges of raising two children and welcoming her daughter, Leilani, two months early.

“Giving up wasn’t an option,” Kayla said.

Today, Kayla is building a brighter future for her family and helping others through her work at a domestic violence shelter. Her story is a reminder that with hard work, support, and opportunity, incredible things are possible.

“The scholarship from ASPSF got me to the finish line.”
