Introducing our final TEDxUSC speakers for our conference this Friday, Lucy Schafer and Brian Femminella!

Lucy is from Crystal City, VA and is a senior at USC pursuing a B.S. in Computational Neuroscience with specializations in Computer Programming and Applied Analytics. Brian is from Long Island, NY, and is also a senior at USC pursuing a degree in B.A. Political Science with minors in Computer + Digital Forensics.

Lucy and Brian will be sharing the stage to talk about the intersection of mental health care, technology, and social impact!

Lucy shares in preparing for this talk, “I am most excited to share our research and findings with the world and to highlight the importance of providing personalized care for unique manifestations of mental illness. There is a mental health crisis among us and it requires innovative approaches to mitigate the issue. Brian and I would like to share ours with you and how you can make an impact in your community too.”

Brian shares one of the core themes of their talk being “Trust is the key to empowerment. When you are able to combine access and knowledge into a powerful movement built off of trust, you will see change happening before your eyes. I believe what I am sharing is going to serve as a reminder to everyone watching that you don’t have to be an important person or a celebrity to make a difference or to empower others. It’s all about the ability to bring everyone together.”

A fun fact about each of them is that Lucy was a top 0.05% Taylor Swift listener in 2020 and Brian is a frequent skydiver!
