Our community partners at the Virginia Fusion Center have asked us to share the following link below about Safety Resources For A Place of Worship.

The Virginia Fusion Center was created as a partnership between the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management to improve the Commonwealth of Virginia’s preparedness against terrorist attacks and to deter criminal activity. The Center provides a vital conduit for information exchange allowing the VFC to communicate with its partners.

If your house of worship is within Town of Louisa Virginia limits, we also have a crime prevention specialist on staff that can provide your religious organization a no cost security assessment on your building or meeting place.

The scammers are desperate today, even phishing on our phones…
😳😳😳

First clue, “+63” is the country code for the Philipines 🇵🇭 ; we’re pretty sure that the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles doesn’t have an office there.

Law enforcement offers the following tips to help protect yourself from phishing text messages:

⚠️Be cautious of unexpected text messages: Don't click on any links or respond to messages from unknown senders.

⚠️Never click on links: Avoid clicking on links in text messages, especially if they seem suspicious or ask for personal information.

⚠️Verify the sender: If you're unsure about the message's legitimacy, contact the company or organization directly through their official website or phone number.

⚠️Block or report suspicious numbers: If you receive a suspicious text message, block the sender and report it to your phone provider or the FTC.

⚠️Use strong passwords and enable multi-factor authentication: This can help protect your accounts from unauthorized access.

⚠️Stay informed about common scam techniques: Familiarize yourself with the latest phishing tactics to recognize and avoid them.

THE TOWN OF LOUISA POLICE DEPARTMENT IS LOOKING FOR CONTINA FAITH GARRISON, RACE: WHITE, S*X: FEMALE, AGE: 51 YEARS OLD, HEIGHT: 5' 3", WEIGHT: 120 lbs., WITH HAZEL EYES, AND BROWN HAIR.
SHE WAS LAST SEEN ON AUGUST 16, 2025, AT 1430 HOURS ON CARTER AVENUE. SHE WAS WEARING UNKNOWN CLOTHING.
SHE IS POSSIBLY DRIVING A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY DISPLAYING VIRGINIA PLATES: TRR-5723.

Law enforcement officers throughout Virginia will be out/ about during peak loading/ unloading throughout the school year greeting students and parents. LPD is excited for a great school year ahead all throughout Lion 🦁 County!

🎒✏️ But now, it’s time for a quick refresher on School Bus Stop Safety. 🛑🚌

🚌 Here’s what drivers need to know when a school bus is stopping to pick up or drop off kids:

🚦 TWO-LANE ROAD
➡️ Vehicles traveling in both directions MUST stop.

🚦 MULTI-LANE (paved across, no median)
➡️ Vehicles traveling in both directions MUST stop.

🚦 DIVIDED HIGHWAY (with median or physical barrier)
➡️ Vehicles behind the bus MUST stop.
➡️ Vehicles traveling in the opposite direction may proceed with CAUTION.

👀 Stay alert.

🎂 Happy 81st birthday, Smokey Bear, from the Louisa Police Department! 🥳

We appreciate you and your friends from the Virginia Department of Forestry visiting with us last week for National Night Out in Louisa. Second year for Smokey, fourth for VDOF!

And as a gift 🎁 to Smokey, let’s all never forget his timeless message: "Only you, can prevent wildfires." (😢95% of wildfires are caused by people).

Due to a motor vehicle collision involving a heavy truck, Roundabout Rd in the 4000 block is closed. One patient was transported to the hospital. Traffic is advised to avoid the area for the next couple of hours.
