On April 2 we will be hosting the second annual De Villiers Memorial 5k. In 2015, cancer took one of our brothers far too soon from us, and to honor is memory we set a goal to raise $100,000 for research and patient support. Jacques didn't let his illness define, hinder, or inhibit his life and we would love for you to join us in celebrating his spirit and helping fight the disease that has altered so many lives.

Check out our latest Brotherhood Profile featuring , Max Ahlborn:

1.Tell us about yourself. Where are you from, what do you study, what do you do around campus?

I’m from the Detroit, Michigan area. I’m a Finance Major and Psychology minor.

Around campus I am involved in SAE, club basketball, various business clubs, Armour, and I am a member of the Pathfinder Program for Environmental Sustainability. I have really gotten back into photography recently, am always down to listen to music, and also love both playing and watching sports. I especially enjoy getting buckets.

2. What has been your favorite position held in SAE and why?

My favorite position in SAE is one that I currently hold, Recruitment chair. We have recently started prepping for Spring Rush, and I’m hype to start meeting some new rushees and putting together a great class. It’s cool to have the future of the fraternity in my hands, even though that might scare some people.

3. What has been your favourite SAE experience?

I’m pretty unsure what of my favorite SAE experience, but if I had to pick one, it would probably be welcome week of this year. I was abroad in Hong Kong last spring and had barely seen anyone is almost 9 months, and it was awesome to come back and reconnect with everyone. No one had any responsibilities before school started and a ton of us were able to just mob downtown St. Louis.

4. If you were stuck on a deserted island and had to choose one other brother to be stuck with, who would it be?

I can start out by saying I most definitely would not want to be stuck with Kabir or Hirsch. Both of them would never stop complaining about how screwed we were and would be useless in terms of survival. For who I would want to be stuck with, I would probably say that I would want to be stuck with Evan Cohen. He seems like he low-key could have a MacGyver side to him and be able to make moves and get us off the island. Or he’d get us both killed in a day, could go either way but I’ll take my chances.
