SIUE Cougar Baja

SIUE Cougar Baja SIUE Mini Baja Team is a group of undergraduate engineering students who design, build, and race a mini baja car.

We compete annually against engineering schools across the nation. We are a select group of dedicated students that build upon the concepts learned in the classroom and apply them over a broad spectrum. These concepts of application range from funding and planning to designing, fabricating and testing. We plan on taking the team from conception to the 2013 Baja SAE Midwest Regional Title. Our grou

Halloween is not just for goblins and ghosts, its for jack-o-lanterns too. As you can see, some of our engineering students are smart and creative! To celebrate Halloween, we asked them to send us a photo of their pumpkin creation for a friendly competition. Please vote by liking your favorite pumpkin photo. The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Engineering’s Cougar Baja team completed its first competition of the year at the University of Louisville’s Midnight Mayhem, the world’s largest exhibition race for Baja SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) vehicles, in mid-September.

The team had quite a successful trip to Louisville this past weekend where we competed in Louisville Midnight Mayhem, the largest exhibition race for Baja SAE vehicles. The official scores have not been released yet so we don't know exactly what place we got but we will say we are very happy with how well the cars ran. Overall, it was a rewarding weekend and another great trip in the books.
