Today, I encourage everyone to take a moment to be still and reflect on the tragic events of September 11, 2001. If you have the opportunity or feel moved to do so, participate in one of the many 9/11 memorial or community service events with the spirit of hope and healing in your heart.

It was an honor to join our Cardinal community in a commemorative stair climb remembering first responders who answered the call of duty on that day.

I joined the University of Louisville Trager Institute Optimal Aging Clinic to celebrate Louisville’s Gold Standard of Optimal Aging Award honorees for their steadfast contributions to our community. These honorees are leading by example in how we should all hope to live flourishing lives well into our older age. Together we can bring a brighter future by supporting optimal aging for ourselves and others.

It was a pleasure to see former Louisville mayors Mayor Greg Fischer, Harvey Sloane and Jerry Abramson, alongside Mayor Craig Greenberg!

Great visit to Logan Aluminum in Russellville. I appreciated the chance to see the plant and learn more about the work happening there alongside Henry Gordinier and our Athletic Director Josh Heird.

Henry’s son is a University of Louisville School of Medicine student and the fourth generation of his family to attend the university. That’s a Cardinal legacy to be proud of.

Thanks for making this visit possible, Henry!

What a wonderful weekend spending time with the Louisville fans! It was a fun surprise to have ACC commissioner Jim Phillips come support the team for an incredible game. Ready for next Friday back home! It's going to be a great season for Louisville Football.

Yesterday marked an incredible gathering of focus and resources with the creation of the Gibbs Foundation Endowment in the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The $4.5 million gift dedicated to crucial respiratory disease research marks a decade of partnership between the Gibbs Foundation and UofL researchers. We will continue in our shared commitment to lung research and improving patient care by pursuing bold ideas while supporting the work of future generations of students and scientists.

This designation is the result of our incredible Cardinal faculty and staff’s open collaboration, passionate leadership and academic focus. I am so proud to be part of this university community and see its far-reaching impact.

August 27, 2026 | President Gerry Bradley and Provost Katie Cardarelli opened the 2026-27 academic year with an Aug. 26 town hall on the Belknap Campus, addressing university finances, Cardinal Intelligence governance and strategic priorities for the upcoming year.
