🍽️ Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🍷
This weekend, students from the South Plains College Culinary Arts Department had the privilege of participating in the annual High Plains Food & W**e Foundation Kitchen Crawl!
Events like these provide our students with valuable, face-to-face insight into the world of catering, allowing them to see firsthand the creativity, coordination, teamwork, and attention to detail that go into successful culinary events.
We are honored to have been part of this wonderful event and grateful for the opportunity to help our students gain real-world experience while connecting with the local culinary and hospitality community.
Thank you to the High Plains W**e & Food Foundation for including us in this incredible event! We are proud of our students and excited to see them continue to grow as future culinary professionals. 🧡💙

*All participants in Culinary Arts Community classes should wear pants, close toed shoes, and have long hair tied back in order to enter the Culinary facility. 🏈 We kicked off tailgate season with a delicious hands-on culinary class! Our students learned how to take classic game-day favorites to the next level by making homemade pickles and pimento cheese to top their crispy fried chicken hot honey sliders. 🍗🔥
And the menu didn’t stop there! Students also prepared Philly cheesesteak potato skins loaded with flavor and finished things off with a creamy, nostalgic homemade banana pudding. 🥔🧀🍌

🍑🥟 We can’t let summer come to an end without sharing a little love for our Kids Culinary Camps! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
Our young chefs spent the summer getting their hands messy, learning new skills, and having A LOT of fun in the kitchen! From folding and filling homemade pierogis 🥟 to spending an entire day celebrating one of summer’s sweetest stars—PEACHES! 🍑🥟

Over the summer, our Adult Culinary Community Classes took a trip to the Flavors of the Nile! Students whipped up fragrant Lemon Rice, traditional Yogurt Sauce, fresh Salata Baladi, crunchy Dukkah-Crusted Chicken, and sweet, flaky Baklava while exploring the bold flavors of Egyptian cuisine.

South Plains College Culinary Arts was honored to host members of the Lubbock Women's Club for a tour and informational presentation today.

We are delighted that this wonderful group chose to visit our program and learn more about the opportunities we provide. Their enthusiasm and willingness to help share the many benefits and experiences our program offers to the community are greatly appreciated.

Thank you to the Lubbock Women's Club for your interest, support, and commitment to promoting educational opportunities throughout our community. We enjoyed having you on campus and look forward to future collaboration.
