A special cake for a special guy who is 87 years young. The cake is 3 layers of fluffy chocolate devils food filled with dark chocolate ganache, hazelnut praline feuilletine & filled and covered in chocolate hazelnut Swiss meringue buttercream.

Every year my husband offers to buy me a cake for my birthday, but I always decline. He doesn’t get that I love baking my own birthday cake because I can make exactly what I want! This cake is a 6 inch, 3 layer vanilla cake filled with Fresh Strawberry Swiss Meringue Buttercream & homemade strawberry compote and covered in Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream. 🍓🍰🥰

Christmas Cookies! So much fun ( and a couple of late nights) baking these. Some old shapes, some new, but always a crowd pleaser. Snowball cookies, linzer cookies, ginger molasses cookies, snickerdoodles, peanut butter cup cookies, gingerbread cookies, sugar almond cookies with royal icing, pecan pie brownies.

Cookies I made for a dear friends’s beautiful mom who was celebrating her 80th birthday. Unfortunately, the pictures I took did not do the cookies justice. I posted a reel, but it turned out so dark. My New Year’s resolution is going to be to learn how to take photos of my baking and how to edit them properly. Stay tuned. 🙂

We bought so many blueberries at the WPB market on Saturday so I had to make another blueberry tart. This time I added more lemon zest in the filling and more berries. So fresh and delicious. This one was even better than the first one.

Dessert is usually something I make only on the weekends, or if I have a special event or am having guests over for dinner. But, I had a lot of berries I needed to use so I surprised my husband last week with a fresh blueberry tart. I used 6 cups of fresh berries-some I cooked with lemon juice & a little sugar-and the rest I used to decorate the top along with lemon zest. My sweet shortbread crust added just the right amount of sweetness to the slightly tart blueberries. I served the tart with a big dollop of fresh whipped cream. It was definitely a welcome surprise!😋🫐🍋

Old fashioned carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Moist, tender, with the perfect amount of nutty, Fall spice goodness. Decorated with figs & thyme from our garden. Truly a family favorite.
