Interested in developing hands-on construction skills? The CORE Construction Certificate Program in Cortez introduces students to basic construction skills, safety, hand and power tools, construction drawings, material handling, and OSHA 10 certification.

Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the Fundamental Needs Maker Space in Cortez, with hands-on construction labs focused on local projects on select Saturdays.

Program details:

Dates: November 3, 2026 – February 6, 2027
Location: Fundamental Needs Maker Space, 209 W. Main St., Cortez
Instructor: Tyler Bruce

Additional opportunity: Participants are eligible to earn college credits at PCC Southwest for Spring 2027.

We remember the 2,977 lives lost. We remember the first responders who ran toward the towers without hesitation—firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and so many others who embodied the highest form of courage and selflessness.

Their sacrifice reminds us why the work we do matters.

At Pueblo Community College, we're honored to train the next generation of first responders—students who carry forward that same spirit of service, ready to answer the call when their communities need them most.

To those we lost, to the heroes who responded, and to the families forever changed: we will never forget.
