New York, New Hampshire, Maryland, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington, Virginia, Ohio, Nevada, and Florida. These are some of the states that your fellow Beta Alpha alumni are flying-in from to celebrate the Chapter's 90th Anniversary at the Rose Bowl THIS Saturday! Certainly, you can jump in a car and join us if you're local, right?

GAME-TIME ANNOUNCED FOR 12:30 P.M. PST! The Tailgate will open at 9:30 a.m. at the Brookside Golf Club ballroom and will run till the 12:30 p.m. kickoff.

UCLA defeated UW on the road this past weekend to improve their overall record to 5-2 and are now tied for 2nd-place in the PAC-12. As a result, for the first time ever, ESPN's College GameDay will be broadcasting from campus this Saturday and the nation will be focused on our Homecoming game vs. the Oregon Ducks! For the degenerate gamblers among us, we're favored by a point-and-a-half.

We have nearly 250 guests attending the 90th Anniversary Alumni Day Tailgate, including around 100 alumni from six decades of Beta Alpha's existence plus two members of Theta Chi's National Board of Directors ("The Grand Chapter")!

LIMITED TAILGATE SPOTS STILL AVAILABLE! Your Alumni Assoc. has purchased an extra DOZEN spots for the Tailgate. After you peruse the updated Attendee List (at bottom), you're going to want to join the celebration. Dear Beta Alpha Brother:
Time to Get Off the Fence! The RSVP date for our Saturday, October 23rd 90th Anniversary Alumni Day Tailgate at the Rose Bowl has been extended till this Sunday! Kickoff time against the Oregon Ducks is still TBA, but we'll open the tailgate at kickoff minus three hours.

Thus far, we have approaching 100 guests signed-up (not counting our actives and pledges), including SIX DECADES of brothers representing NINE STATES and FOUR CHAPTERS of Theta Chi. In addition, we will be joined by two members of Theta Chi International Fraternity's Grand Chapter, Jim McMahon '79 (Zeta Epsilon/CSULB) and Tom Thompson '98 (Rho/Illinois).

We've all been hunkered-down for more than a year-and-a-half now. What better way to ease back into our social lives than to connect with our boys from back in the day and enjoy a tailgate at the Rose Bowl?? And, you can do so entirely outdoors- we're having the nice people at Brookside Golf Club set-up the buffet outside on the patio adjacent to the Grand Ballroom; half of the dining tables and chairs will be on the patio and the remainder will be indoors and spaced-apart. Per the Pasadena Health Department's new regulations, you must present proof of full-vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the game in order to enter the Rose Bowl; children younger than 12 are exempt. You must also wear a mask inside the stadium except when eating or drinking. Each year, some of our guests attend the tailgate and skip the game.

Not only are we celebrating Beta Alpha's 90 years at UCLA, it's also Homecoming and Parents Weekend. Oftentimes, alumni ask us what they can do to help the Chapter. Show up, have fun, and let the 47-man Fall '21 Pledge Class that we've spent more than two decades working towards and their parents see first-hand that the friendships we all made at 663 Gayley continue well past college days. Yes, if you come to Alumni Day, we're more-likely to retain our pledges through initiation and remain above 100-man chapter-size for the first-time since the early-90s. Better yet- get your contemporaries to come with you.
