Happy International Woman’s Day! Today we would like to focus our attention to Marfa Rabkova. Marfa is a scholar who has been detained in a Belarusian prison since 2020 after protesting against the six-time re-elected President of Belarus. The Belarusian president has been the only president that Belarus has ever known after being elected president in 1994.

Our class has just finished reading Prisoner by Jason Rezaian. This book really opened our eyes about how scholars are treated in Iranian prisons. Ahmadreza Djalali is a scholar who is currently being held in an Iranian prison and has been there since April 25th, 2016. The book helped us understand how Djalali may be treated while he is being detained.

Hello Everyone!! This is Dr. Rothermels Human Rights Class! As a part of Mansfield SAR (Scholars at Risk), we will be advocating for the release of Marta Rabkova who has been imprisoned in Belarus since September 17, 2020 and Ahmadreza Djalali who has been imprisoned in Iran since April of 2016! Help us in our journey to spread awareness!
