Great conversations about the future of Memphis!

Memphis is a city full of passion, opportunity, and unstoppable potential.

Dr. Tracy D. Hall, president of Southwest Tennessee Community College, joined Duncan Williams (interim CEO, Greater Memphis Chamber) and Doug McGowen (president & CEO, Memphis Light, Gas & Water (MLGW) for an inspiring panel discussion at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Economic Development meeting.

Together, these leaders shared their vision for the incredible opportunities ahead for our region and the vital role higher education and local leadership play in moving Memphis forward.

Join us as we celebrate and honor Hispanic and Latino cultures on Sept. 15 at the Union Avenue Campus Breezeway and Sept. 16 at the Macon Cove Campus Breezeway, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Enjoy music, dancing, and delicious cuisine as we recognize the rich contributions and traditions of Hispanic and Latino communities. The event is free and open to all Southwest students and employees.

Happy from Southwest’s Union Avenue Campus!

Students showed out today with classic Memphis energy — grilling up burgers and hot dogs, cooling off with cold treats, striking poses at the photo booth, and rocking a spray‑on 901 tattoo before jookin’ to the DJ.

Southwest is proud to be part of this citywide celebration of Memphis heritage and culture. Nothing beats honoring the 901 with good food, good music, and our amazing Saluqis.

Even after being rescheduled from last week for the Macon Cove campus, Saluqis showed up ready to celebrate. Students grabbed burgers, chips, and sodas, jumped into games, and turned the breezeway into a full‑on dance zone thanks to some epic DJ‑led dance‑offs. The perfect way to kick off a brand‑new year!
