Today we had two homeschool groups (one in the morning then one in the afternoon) come to learn about alpacas and sheep, interact with the animals and then do an activity of felting fiber around a bar of soap.

Getting bars of soap ready to felt for a large group of home schoolers coming Friday. It's easier for everyone, except maybe me, to wrap the fiber around the bars instead of having them try. It also saves time and nerves when kids are here.

Since I'm running low on hand knitted scarves I decided to start working on some. Trying a new pattern with a diamond look. With being somewhat bulky yarn pattern doesn't show up as well but will still look nice.πŸ₯°

My hubby, Kermit J. Paris , is opening gate since sheep are anxiously waiting to get a chance to eat a bit of green grass. With the warm days they are anxiously waiting to get sheared next Monday. Alpacas will be sheared May 7th. Have been fertilizing and prepping other pasture lots for future grazing. Right now they are grazing short periods during the day to avoid diarrhea and bloat.

Happy National Ag Day πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today, and every day, we celebrate the wool growers who care for the land, raise healthy flocks, and produce one of the most sustainable, versatile fibers on earth.

Agriculture powers your daily life in more ways than you might think:

🌾 1 in 10 U.S. jobs is tied to agriculture
πŸ₯› From the food you eat to the clothes you wear, ag touches it all
πŸ‘ And yes, that includes your favorite wool socks, sweaters, and suits

Today, we say thank you to the stewards of the soil, the shepherds on the range, and the families behind America’s fiber.
