"Time after Time: Cyclical Fashion" is on display from October 28th until January 27th at the Cullis and Gladys Wade Depot Clock Museum!

The MSU Historic Costume & Textiles Collection presents this special exhibition on recurring trends in women’s fashions from the 1860s through the early 2010s. Represented by the clocks in the Cullis and Gladys Wade Clock Museum, time cycles visually connect to the way clothing trends move in cycles and designs from the past continue to inspire and come back in style. Throughout the exhibit, historic garments from different decades are paired together to visually show design similarities. Visitors will see examples of women's clothing from the 1860s, 1880s, 1890s, 1900s, 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1980s, and 2010. In the back of the museum is an installation on the Resilience of The Little Black Dress, the iconic dress persisting for over 100 years.

The MSU Historic Costume & Textiles Collection is part of the School of Human Sciences Fashion Design and Merchandising Program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Special thanks to the MSU Welcome Center Staff, Department of Art Galleries, and Graduate Assistant Cecelia Turner.
