In giving power to students by allowing them to drive discussion, craft questions, and reflect, higher engagement occurs. NCTE member Kristen Kalenowicz shares her modified "Fishbowl strategy" and how to implement it in your own classrooms, where the teacher’s role is to "provide the guidelines and the support, and then to step aside and let them speak."
