Following our meeting, The Murphy Institute is coming to talk to us and share information about their NY Union Semester program!

Meeting this Thursday at 6pm in room 102 of the Labor Ed Center! Be there! :)

Also, A representative from The Murphy Institute will be on campus on Thursday, April 25, to discuss the New York Union Semester program. The rep will be visiting a number of classes and also holding an informational session at the RU POWER meeting at the Labor Education Center around 6:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in unions or social justice issues. See below for additional information.



Are you interested in workers’ rights and social justice?

At CUNY’s Murphy Institute, we offer unique programs that provide students tools for leadership, scholarship, and advocacy including the New York Union Semester.

NY Union Semester offers a mentored internship for graduates and undergraduates at a labor union or worker organization, in addition to 4 outstanding classes. Interns receive:

· A weekly stipend and unlimited Metro Card

· In-state tuition rates and a scholarship for 4 labor studies courses

· 12 graduate or 16 undergraduate credits

If you are interested in running for a position on the E-board please confirm your candidacy by emailing [email protected]. There is no deadline to announce candidacy, however you must email what position you are running for before the meeting/election date of May 2nd. We will be holding the election at this meeting. Please prepare a brief election statement of why people should vote for you, for May 2nd.
