On Saturday 31 January, R W Bro Brian Percival Gargett, PGM for Gloucestershire & Herefordshire, accompanied by a number of Grand Officers and newly appointed Provincial officers attended The Kyrle Mark Lodge, No. 1349 in Ross-on-Wye, to present a fifty-year certificate to W Bro. Peter James Wiles, PGStdB.
The Kyrle Lodge had changed the date of its June meeting by dispensation so that it occurred fifty years to the day after Peter's advancement on 12th June 1975.
The PGM took the opportunity to remind the Brethren present of some of the events of 1975. He complimented Peter on a very full and distinguished journey in the Mark degree over the fifty years.
He then had much pleasure in presenting the Certificate to W Bro Peter who made a most courteous and heartfelt response to the assembled group.

During the 47th Masonic District's one-day class in November at the historic Pump House and Water Tower, 32 new Master Masons were raised from nine different lodges. Members of National Sojourners' Pittsburgh Chapter No. 38 - Isaac Craig Camp Heroes of '76, conducted the opening ceremonies and sentries.
Fourteen Master Pillar awards, nine Master Craftsman awards and six Master Builder awards were also presented within the district.

In 1975, Brother Wayne A. Bicehouse served as Worshipful Master of State College Lodge No. 700. At the September meeting, Brother Wayne took to the East to mark his 50th anniversary and opened and closed the lodge in ancient form.
