GTEC is pleased to announce we are teaming up with Marty Sellers to begin providing the same photography services that Marty has been known for in North Alabama for 20 years. This combination will further complement GTEC's comprehensive offering of construction support services by adding aerial project photography from plane, helicopter, and unmanned aircraft.

In Marty’s new role as Director of Technologies, he will continue to provide photography services to our combined client base while managing the company's projects and services. Marty holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama and a Master’s in Information Systems from UAHuntsville. Marty has been photographing construction and development in the Tennessee Valley region since 2004 while working in various engineering, customer service, and facilities management roles.

The GTEC team looks forward to continuing to grow in the Huntsville area while serving the needs of our clients, their customers, and our employees. Feel free to reach out about any construction services your projects might need including scheduled photography services from the air or ground. Not aerial photography related, but using a comparable platform for most of our work Jerrie Mock departed this day in 1964 to circle the Earth in her Cessna 180 with the aid of some extra fuel tanks over the course of 29 days she accomplished her mission.

Her airplane (well the front half anyway) is on display at The Works, a science and history museum near where I live in Newark, OH. Along with a globe plotting her route and a flight simulator. Hopefully her story of her epic flight will continue to inspire future generations to follow.

On this day in 1964, Ohio’s Jerrie Mock took off from the Columbus International Airport in the “Spirit of Columbus,” her red and white Cessna 180. With this flight, she became the first woman to fly solo around the world.

Mock arrived back in Columbus on April 17 to cheering crowds. She later set other flying records and published a book, Three-Eight Charlie, about her historic travels.

Her plane is now on display at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.

It’s beginning to look a like winter!

The Salt Lake City building was looking good yesterday after the snow storm. There is something about a fresh coat of white snow that makes things look magical. I almost want to go there - almost.
