Congratulations Kwan! We just hope when you are rich and famous and running academic criminology that you remember your humble, admiring former colleagues back here at JohnJayREC!

The American Society of Criminology's Division of International Criminology selected doctoral student, Kwan-Lamar Blount-Hill, as first-place winner of its Student Paper Award Competition! Using cross-national data to propose a "social identity theory of interspecies dominance," Kwan shows that reductions in the number of wildlife species under threat is correlated with measures of social dominance, including gender inequality and lack of civil freedoms. Congratulations Kwan on this incredible honor! John Jay College of Criminal Justice The Graduate Center, CUNY The City University of New York
