Animal Assisted Therapy in Social Work

Animal Assisted Therapy in Social Work We are a graduate student group at NYU's Silver School of Social Work interested in Animal Assisted Therapy. The group is open to all students.

The Animal Assisted Therapy in Social Work group provides a forum for students to discuss and explore the variety of animal assisted interventions in the context of social work - from clinical applications and programs, to evidence based research in the field. Activities will include guest speakers from programs currently incorporating animal assisted therapy (AAT), to peer led discussions of curr

ent research regarding efficacy of AAT. In addition, we will hold monthly meetings to facilitate networking and information sharing to raise awareness of local and national lectures, events, and conferences, as well as volunteer opportunities.

Just a reminder about our "puppy party" tomorrow!

Come de-stress and take a break from finals by meeting and playing with some therapy dogs. This is also a great chance to learn more about animal-assisted therapy by talking with their owners, four wonderful volunteers from Pet Partners!

The event will take place on Tuesday, May 6th, from 5pm to 7pm in the Silver Parlor.

Its a great opportunity for some self-care, so hope to see you there!!
