Congratulations to the TYCE Kings 8th Grade AAU program which also includes an 8th grader who attends Alexander Hamilton Elementary School.
T.Y.C.E. Kings a 14U Boys, White Plains (and beyond) based (8th Grade) AAU program, "dominates" in NYC.
This past weekend at the MADE Hoops NYC CLASH in Brooklyn, the Kings tore up the competition, finishing first in their division, then charging all the way to the overall championship, where they just fell short. What makes this run so impressive is the context:
MADE Hoops is one of the premier grassroots exposure circuits in youth basketball. Its mission is to “Maximize Athletes’ Development & Exposure.” They host tournaments, leagues, camps, and showcase events across the country, drawing top-level teams, scouts, and recruiting attention. The NYC CLASH is part of that circuit, teams come from everywhere, often comprised of regional all-stars recruited from multiple areas and sometimes from multiple states.
So when the T.Y.C.E. Kings, mostly local White Plains area players who aren’t recruited by poaching other teams, but developed, go toe-to-toe with these “all-star composite” squads and hold their own, that’s something extraordinary.
MADE Hoops themselves recognized the performance, featuring the Kings on their national Instagram account with the headline that T.Y.C.E. was “dominating in NYC.” (Please see the instagram post in the comments)
This is more than just a strong showing, it’s a statement: That local talent, trained and trusted, can compete at the highest levels That loyalty, development, heart still matter and that White Plains can be proud of its young ambassadors
So to all the players, coaches, families, and supporters, CONGRATULATIONS. You represented with grit, class, and heart.
