“OTECH helped prepare me by teaching me to be professional with clients in how I dress and in what I talk about with them, and that is something I use every day. I am forever grateful that I am an OTECH alum. It forever changed my life and gave me the opportunity to work my dream job and build my dream life.”

Chloe completed the Cosmetology program in 2018. She is now a licensed Cosmetologist and Master Esthetician specializing in custom colors, haircuts, and skin care. She is currently located at Salon Pure in Layton, UT.

An OTECH education is golden, but maybe the real treasure was the friends we made along the way ✨

"Being in the OTECH Nursing Assistant Program was an amazing journey! The instructors were amazing and I will always cherish them. My program opened new friendships and a new understanding of the medical field."

Asvin completed his Nursing Assistant program before graduating high school. This fall, he will be attending Utah State University Eastern for Social Work. He has also been awarded a student government position as a Diversity Representative.

Ever felt as though you were watching history be made? That's how it feels to know Composites alum Desiree Braden.

“As a single mother working multiple dead-end jobs, I was unable to spend any time with my kids and wasn’t able to make ends meet. I ended up homeless without either of my kids and I knew something had to change . . . so I enrolled into the Composites program at OTECH. My journey and success were recognized by OTECH and I was awarded as a finalist for Student of the Year just one day before completing my program. OTECH has changed my life in so many ways!”

Since completing her program, Desiree has achieved two goals: seeing her kids sleeping soundly in their own beds and landing her dream job at Northrop Grumman.

You didn't come to OTECH to get a job. You came to create a career. That's exactly what Barbering alum Colby Lockett has done, and he isn't finished yet. Are you?

"I am a professional barber and have been since completing the Barbering program at OTECH. I am now enrolled in Cosmetology and looking to complete my hair journey. I decided to come back to OTECH for a cosmetology license because my experience to obtain my barber license was great . . . I want to be able to add to more tools to my craft that allow me to create."

Happy new year to our alumni! This year, we hope you pursue new paths and take time to celebrate your accomplishments. Real Estate alum Kathleen Kimose was OTECH's oldest graduate this fall, and we're sure her story will inspire you.

"My sister is a broker and always made it seem interesting. After many years of considering it I finally enrolled. Going back to school was not easy at 69 years old. I did it, I made it, and I graduated at 70!"

Utah State University is coming to campus on December 12th from 11am to 1pm to talk about how you can turn your completed OTECH certification into an associate or bachelor's degree! If you're interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree, this would be a great table to stop by!

Today we honor the bravery, sacrifice, and strength of our OTECH alumni veterans — amazing individuals like Software Development alum Taylor Steab. Before coming to OTECH, Taylor served in the military as a tank mechanic. After being honorably discharged, he started looking for something new.

"I found the Software Development program at OTECH and decided to enroll. I loved the program. I was put in for the National Technical Honor Society. The instructors were amazing and helped me every way they could . . . I could have never gotten where I am today without my education that OTECH provided for me."

Taylor is now working as a contracted database developer at Hill Air Force Base. Thank you, Taylor, and all of our alumni veterans for your service!
