From Fr. Andy Alexander, S.J., Collaborative Ministry at Creighton University
The Provincial Superiors of the nine Jesuit Provinces of the U.S. have created a prayer and reflection opportunity for Jesuits and lay colleagues of all the Jesuit sponsored ministries in the U.S., for the weeks of Lent and Easter. The Moved to Greater Love program will start on Sunday, March 2nd (Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, is March 5th.) and will end on the third Sunday of Easter, May 4th.
It is an opportunity for all who participate to “to ask for the graces we need to discern the Lord’s presence in the many changes coming to Jesuit ministries.” “Moved to Greater Love will help all of us in Jesuit ministry deepen our dependence on God and sharpen our vision for the movements of the Spirit.”
All the Jesuits in the U.S. will be taking part in this program. Colleagues in Jesuit sponsored ministries, like Creighton, can also participate by going to the web site, www.Jesuits.org/GreaterLove (where there is more information) and by registering through the “Add me to the email list” box. Each evening, all of us participating will receive an email, with a link to the next day’s reflection page. The reflection will include 5 parts which can be reviewed in 10 minutes: a Grace to pray for that day; a short paragraph for reflection; a link to the daily scripture readings; several reflection questions for that day; and a brief reflective video.
