October is AGD Foundation Month. Here are some fun facts about our Foundation. Enjoy!
What is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation & what is done with the money we send to the Foundation office? The Foundation uses donations from sisters, chapters, clubs, parents and friends to fulfill its mission to “impact and enrich our communities by providing essential support for education, philanthropy and leadership.”
Last year (6/1/10-5/31/11) the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation provided $436,065 in direct support to our Fraternity, our sisters and our communities; here are a few highlights:
$200,000 - Grants to our Fraternity for programming related to leadership
development, making smart decisions and academic achievements
$100,000 - Grants to The Leadership Institute-Women with Purpose
$78,800 - Educational assistance to 91 sisters
$27,265 - Grants to sisters in crisis
$30,000 - Grants to diabetes-related organizations, supporting summer
camps, research and education
The Foundation is Turning 50!
The celebration has begun and you are invited to join in on the festivities! A big 50th Anniversary celebration will take place at International Convention in St. Louis, MO, where we will celebrate the awarding of our $10 millionth dollar. Recognition for chapters, clubs and individuals who help us reach this goal will be at an all time high.
Last year (6/1/10-5/31/11), 17 alumnae chapters and alumnae clubs were recognized as Jewel Society members, donating $1,000 or more to the ΑΓΔ Foundation during 2010-11.
One Last Thing…
Are you (or a sister) planning to participate in a class, workshop or program which will advance you in your profession or enhance your ability to achieve career goals? If so, apply for a Continuing Education Grant. With no application deadline this program could provide you with financial assistance now, down the road; or both! More information and a Continuing Education Grant application are available on our website.

Scholarship Applications are due to the Foundation office. Don’t forget,
there are scholarships available for full-time graduate students.

All contributions raised by chapter/club fundraising events are due to the Foundation office for Fraternity Good Standing and proper Foundation recognition.
