was chartered on April 5, 1941. Petersburg Alumnae is privileged to celebrate 75 years of service to the areas of Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George, Southern Chesterfield and Sussex. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the

world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. ❤️🤍 EMPOWERED AS ONE! 🤍❤️

The Petersburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated came together for an inspiring day of sisterhood, fellowship, learning, laughter, reconnection, and fun during our annual retreat!

Under the theme “Empowered as One,” our chapter took time to pause, reconnect, reflect, and prepare for the sorority year ahead. Through meaningful conversations, leadership development, group-led activities, and engaging discussions, we strengthened our physical well-being, commitment to our purpose, our chapter goals, and the responsibilities that come with serving as members of our beloved sisterhood.

Together, we explored opportunities to serve, lead, engage, and make an even greater impact in our community. We discussed upcoming service initiatives, community involvement, and ways for our members to lend their talents and passions through chapter committees.

This retreat was more than a day on the calendar—it was a renewal of our commitment to one another and to the communities we are called to serve. When we are connected in purpose, united in action, and empowered through sisterhood, there is no limit to the impact we can make.

A heartfelt thank you to our chapter leadership team and retreat planning committee for creating such a meaningful, energizing, and memorable experience. Your vision, dedication, and hard work helped set the tone for an incredible year ahead!
