🌸 Do you know there’s a tree that is more famous than us on Drexel’s campus?!

Introducing Drexel’s 2026 Tree of the Year: a Kwanzan cherry (also known as Prunus serrulata ‘Kwanzan’) blooming its way to victory between Lancaster Walk and the volleyball courts. The tree was nominated by Environmental Studies & Global Studies major Cameron Faulhaber.
Brought to you by Drexel Climate & Sustainability (Sustainable Drexel) and EcoReps, this pageant had real competition, but this cherry blossom came out on top.

Our inaugural Pennoni Community Fellows has wrapped! , Samirah Rahman, .vb, and did so much work with our community partners, . They created a postcard campaign that brought 1000 hand drawn postcards to the Philadelphia School Board, spoke directly at a board meeting about Philadelphia school libraries needing resources, helped spread the word about the Imagination Library, and earned their Civic Engagement Leadership Certificates with our friends and partners, ! Lets take a breathe … they have been such wonderful collaborators throughout this year. We’re so proud of them and can’t wait to see their trajectories over the next few years as they continue to build communities.

It is truly celebration season at Pennoni! Our Honors Program mentors have done so much work to ensure our students feel seen, cared for, and supported. Imagine just being able to tap into this brain trust and support network of Kayla Hidalgo, .lefebvree, , Angie Chang, , and .woodland9 (not featured but no less beloved). Y’all are the best 🥰🥰🥰
