Our second annual all-class Alumni Reunion was a wonderful success! Graduates from over 18 different classes gathered in perfect weather on Saturday morning for mass followed by a luncheon in our beautiful auditorium. These moments of fellowship and friendship are so special, and we are deeply grateful for our alumni community, who are the very soul of the De Sales legacy. God bless our wonderful alumni!

The '𝙂𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨' is one of the new pillars of the De Sales Alumni Program. It's purpose is two-fold: to shine a spotlight on the accomplishments of our alumni, and to get current students thinking about their futures in a fun, low-pressure environment. We finished out the series last month with two wonderful presentations. First, the annual '𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙥' 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥, featuring a panel of recently graduated students and EmCeed by Mr. Andrew Brady of West Catholic (𝙝𝙪𝙜𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙀𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙨 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 ['22], 𝙄𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙖 𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙚 ['23], 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝙁𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙚 ['22], 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙅𝙖𝙮𝙡𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙚𝙧 ['23]).

Second, a new collaboration with 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙨, a 4th-generation family-owned company right here in West Philly. 7th and 8th grade students learned all about metal fabrication, project management, and the opportunities and stability a career in the trades can offer. We love exposing our students to all the options available to them and empowering them along the way to reach their full potential, no matter what path they choose!

We were thrilled to welcome staff from PECO yesterday for a fantastic presentation for our 7th and 8th grade students. We are so grateful to alumna Gabrielle Bioteau ('15), for helping make this partnership come to life. As part of ‘Career Month’ here at De Sales, students got to hear from 10 different PECO employees across several departments, from engineers to administrative managers to associate directors, what a career at PECO could look like. They learned all of the incredible things that happen at PECO to keep our lights on, and even got to work in small groups to conduct their own experiment using everything they learned from the presentation. Electricity has never been so much FUN, and we are so grateful to Gabrielle and the PECO staff for providing such an engaging and memorable experience for our middle schoolers.

This festive celebration is not only one of the most fun events of our year, but is also an essential fundraiser for St. Francis de Sales School. The only thing better than your alumni thriving in their adulthood? Current students getting to witness and share in it! It was such a privilege (and so much FUN!) to see alumna Raven Burckhalter (class of 2014) shine in "A Christmas Carol" at the Walnut Street Theatre yesterday! We are so grateful to Raven and the staff at the Walnut for making this opportunity happen for our students.
