We are committed to promoting diversity in the study of art.

We are committed to serving as a support group for diversity issues within the art department. We are committed to the representation of diverse artists though lecture series, and public presentations. We are committed to the promotion and creation of course content that reflects diversity. We are committed to confront prejudicial, discriminatory or racist behaviors and policies. We are committed

to leverage our collective efforts through partnerships and alliances to foster
awareness and communication to enable an educational environment of inclusiveness. We are committed to multi-cultural communities and educational opportunities for traditionally
underserved and underrepresented groups through access. This includes the creation of community led
initiatives and the creation of diversity scholarships within the department.

General information

This year the PSU AD/DC is coordinating a free lunchtime lecture series with support from the Multicultural Center and the African America Visual Art Scholarship. Lectures generally are held on the last Monday of every month from noon-1pm in PSU's Multicultural Center, located on the second floor of Smith Memorial Student Center. 2011 PSU AD/DC Lecture Series line-up: January 31st- Varinthorn Christopher February TBD- Carmen Papalia March 28th- Ralph Pugay April 25th- TBD May 30th- Wendy Redstar
