🪼Comic 2.0 Tips and Tricks: This year we will talk about ground up publishing , kick starter, and Book design! I will touching on how to navigate the vast art community. As well as where you can find some resources, and how to get your voice out.

🪼 Lets Daydream Together: A workshop centering radical imagination and connection! Envy will be holding a creative & gentle container to explore our collective imagination. ✨

🌊MINI KEYNOTES🌊

🪼Zines in the Classroom? How to Incorporate DIY Zines Into Learning Assessment: As a Visiting Assistant Professor at Reed College, I have used zines as a science communication assignment across multiple semesters and courses. Incorporating zines into your curriculum has multiple benefits for the students. In this talk, I will discuss many of the benefits of a zine assignment, as well as some of the obstacles.

🪼Gather, Hold, Ground; Building Community Through Zine Installations: Gather, Hold, Ground, is an on going traveling project where an art installation is used to display a zine archive. GHG, is the gathering of people, where we can hold space together for the purpose of grounding ourselves in each other’s stories through zines.

🪼Disrupting Institutional Narratives with Archival Research: Learn techniques for researching underrepresented histories through archives and records. Beq will demonstrate how they created a zine on working class student activist and organizing using student group archives, Reed collections, and community journalism.

This years zine fest is student organized by Zine Czars Aida Taha and Andreanna Gude, and they are bringing you mini keynotes, art workshops, a keynote speaker, treat vendors, a mini zine library and an epic late night afterparty in the Student Union.

Reedies have worked all year round in preparation of this upcoming weekend, attending skill-based workshops, connecting with each other at Zine Club, organizing zine displays to increase zine readership and access through the Library, and supporting other local zine fests.

Now don your best ZineWrecked theme outfit, think aquatic, pirate, ocean, and come on thru! Let’s pack the house with all our DIY and punk community in Portland. All are invited, all ages, free and open to the public. Reed campus is fully accessible, high quality KN 95 masks are required!
