The Neuroscience Club at Portland State University

The Neuroscience Club at Portland State University We are a Portland State University-based club for folks that get really excited about neuroscience. O

We are a diverse group of people that are very curious about how a brain inspires behavior, cognition, and reality. Our educational backgrounds vary greatly and we find this to be a splendid property of our club – there are no prerequisites required to appreciate the wonders that the field of neuroscience explores. Our events have the utmost priority of educating our community about neuroscience,

including (but certainly not limited to) aspects of mental health, diversity, and how to become involved in the fascinating field of neuroscience. All are welcome to attend our events, PSU students and public alike! We are proud to receive the first place award for our poster presentation at the 2016 Society for Neuroscience Oregon Chapter Meeting, and 2014 Student Organization of the Year at PSU. Build our community:
We now have a public Facebook group for planning satellite meetups and getting to know each other!
-> https://www.facebook.com/groups/PDXneuroscience/

How to join:
To become an official member, you must be a PSU student taking at least 1 credit. Registration with OrgSync is required -- this is because an OrgSync presence is required of all official Portland State University student clubs. (If you do not plan on being a student, you can still sign up for our news letter and attend our events! Simply send our group a message)

- If you haven't registered for OrgSync, all you need is a name, email address, and student ID number (https://orgsync.com/register?permalink=portland-state-university)

- Once registered, Log In (https://orgsync.com/login/portland-state-university) and when on our chapter page (https://orgsync.com/48125/chapter), you should be able to select Join Now.

- Please be sure to enter your .edu email address and student ID

- Your request will be attended to within 48 hours. Official members have voting privileges regarding inner aspects of our club, such as amending our Constitution, determining research/event themes, and directing the growth of our club. Membership also allows PSU to see what our student demographic looks like, and this ultimately determines how our events get funded. If you are not a PSU student (thus not an official member) you are still more than welcome to attend our events and meetings -- just stay tuned here on our page for updates! :)
