Our annual dinner meeting brought together over 80 people at the historic Providence Art Club. After our cocktail hour with live music, the performed before everyone headed upstairs for dinner.

Our dinner featured the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court of Rhode Island, John J. McConnell, Jr. ‘85, as our guest speaker. Chief Judge McConnell engaged in a fascinating moderated conversation with our new Vice President, Mary Maguire ‘80.

We also honored Kevin P. Tracy ‘85 with the BCRI Alumni Service Award. Tracy has served BCRI for 37 years, including as President and as Treasurer

During the dinner, we also announced Pascale Carvalho ’26 and Thomas “Tee” Gotsch ‘26 as the recipients of the BCRI’s Jean Francis Madeira “Excellence in Music” Award. This award is given annually to graduating Brown students in music who have exhibited exceptional ability and promise in their course of study.

Join fellow Brown Bears for conversation, camaraderie, and your drink of choice! Warmer weather has arrived, and it’s a great time for a meet-up with other Brown alums at The Trap Brew Pub & Grill in East Greenwich. The Trap has a great outdoor space, too, if it’s a warm evening. Whether you graduated decades ago or just this year, all Brown grads who want to have fun are welcome. Gather a group of Brown friends or come to make new ones. Earlier this month, the Brown Club of Rhode Island, in partnership with the Rhode Island Football Club, attended an exciting game in which RIFC faced off against the Tampa Bay Rowdies during Hometown Heroes Night. BCRI members, alums, friends, and family got the chance to experience the exclusive pregame high-five tunnel and participate in a post-game group photo on the field. Despite the weather, it was a great night, and we’re excited to host more events like this in the future! 💙⚓⚽💛

Join BCRI at the Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth, RI, for a family-friendly visit to a special and less well-known Rhode Island gem. The Garden has dozens of large, whimsical topiaries, a bamboo patch to walk through, and a great lawn with a view of Narragansett Bay. There’s also space for children to run around and a beautiful Victorian house with shaded porches. Pack a picnic lunch and join us there for some fun out in nature. See the link in bio! 🌸🌱

A few weeks ago, alumni, family, and friends gathered at Narragansett Boat Club to cheer on Brown Men’s Crew to victory for the Atalanta Cup against Dartmouth. We enjoyed coffee and donuts before the race, and lunch with the team at Marston Boathouse afterwards.

Thanks to Jim Griffeth ‘79, an alumnus part of the first Brown Men’s Varsity Crew to win the Varsity National IRA Championship, for organizing this meetup!

The officers of the BCRI invite you to join us at our annual meeting at the historic Providence Art Club. It promises to be an evening filled with conversation, celebration, and fellowship! Our keynote speaker will be Chief Judge John J. McConnell, Jr. ‘80, for the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island. The evening will also feature a special performance from the Jabberwocks!

The cool, sophisticated art gallery vibe of the Providence Art Club is just the right ambiance during our cocktail hour with live music! Last, but by no means least, the sit-down dinner promises to be another highlight at this year’s BCRI gathering.

This dinner sells out annually, so save your spot now! See the link in our bio for registration details!
