Shoutout to Emily Ragains, a 2025 graduate of WDTC's Criminal Justice program who currently serves the Emergency Services Communication Center for Pennington County Sheriffs Office.

Combined with the hands-on training she received from South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and her time at WDTC, she is ready to serve the community.

Well done, Emily!

Big news! WDTC is partnering with the Black Hills Home Builders Association () on an exciting, hands-on project to build a home from the ground up.

Throughout the 2026–2027 school year, students from Construction Technology, Plumbing Technology, Electrical Trades and other WDTC programs will work alongside industry partners to build a home right here on campus.

Once completed, the home will be relocated to a permanent site in New Underwood, South Dakota. We’re excited to see our students’ hard work come together in a project that showcases the value of hands-on learning and industry partnerships!

High school students from across the region spent the day at the Kjerstad Event Center exploring careers in construction through AGC of South Dakota’s Construction Camp in Rapid City!

From operating heavy equipment to pouring concrete and exploring careers in electrical, carpentry, welding, diesel and more, students got hands-on experience with a variety of construction careers.

We’re proud to partner with AGC of South Dakota and industry professionals to give students a firsthand look at the rewarding, in-demand careers that help build our communities.
