When they aren’t rigging up the world, Brian, Dutch and Terry are playing with robots. THiNC Worldwide is a proud sponsor of the Port Townsend Roboctopi, competitors in the FIRST Robotics Competition. Don’t know what Robotics is? It’s a great program for youths interested in science and technology, check it out https://www.firstinspires.org/ the program is always looking for volunteers to help out. Big shout out to our own Brian Morningstar who is the coach of Roboctopi, Dutch who builds the practice fields for the teams to use before competitions and of course Anne Kearson, Mom-in-Charge. The time they dedicate to this program is amazing and deserves serious kudos.

The Starbucks Leadership Experience Keynote was held at the United Center in Chicago Illinois the first week of September. The event was produced by Touch Worldwide who based out of Seattle Washington. Starbucks LE was the 1st production in the United Center following the installation of the venues new enormous score clock. The clock boasts 8660 square feet of LED surface and kinetic movement of 6 independent LED screens. The clock is 70 feet wide and 34 feet tall making it the largest center score clock in the NHL. While this is great for hockey and basketball fans it presented some challenges for rigging shows in the round. THiNC Rigging Coordinator Morgan Prine with the support of Jeff Mosher, Omar “Ace” Acevedo and team engineer some creative solutions involving some 60 foot HD spanner trusses, bridles weaved through each other N/S and E/W, and they even threw in a few H bridles to prove how badass they real are. Check out the macramé in these pictures. Nice work team!

We can tell you how hard the planning process was (over a 1000 hours of preproduction). We can tell you how we had to teach the Shanghai riggers how to rig THiNC style (a total of 222 motors). We can tell you about the tsunami that hit the night before load in, or the patience’s that were needed to deal with a huge language barrier. Instead we are going to show you the crew that went to Shanghai and got it done! The Invitational 2019 - Mercedes Benz Arena. Thanks Dave Heard for the great photos

It's not always about work, a little fun with the crew.
