The Muslim Students Association (MSA) is a registered religious and cultural student organization at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). In accordance with the teachings of Islam, MSA believes in the principles of peace, equality, freedom, and justice. Membership of the organization is open to any student, faculty and staff of EKU. Specific objectives of MSA are to:
· Encourage Muslim stude
nts to live according to the teachings of Islam, both on and off campus.
· Observe Islamic festivals and celebrations in order to increase the knowledge, understanding, and the beauty of the Muslim faith throughout the EKU community.
· Dispel misconceptions and inaccuracies about Islam.
· Build and promote friendly and respectful relations between Muslims and non-Muslims on the campus and in the community at large.
· Build cooperative and collaborative relationships and partnerships with Muslim Students Associations at colleges and universities in Kentucky and beyond.
· Build friendly, cooperative and respectful relationships with other student organizations on the EKU campus. Qualifications of MSA officers:
Be an adult, practicing Muslim known for Islamic manners and morals in his/her community and for organizational dealings.
