Japan Study Japan Study is one of the oldest and most comprehensive programs in higher education exchange betwee culture through Japan Study.

For over 50 years, undergraduate students in the United States and at Waseda University have become international citizens as they explore Japan and the U.S. in depth, build language skills, and experience Japanese and U.S. Based at Earlham College, Japan Study links member colleges of the Great Lakes Colleges Association and the Associated Colleges of the Midwest with Waseda University in Tokyo.

Japan Study has made important contributions toward fostering international and intercultural understanding among a thousands of Japanese and American students and faculty members. Participants have gone on to distinguished careers in academics, industry, the arts, and governmental and non-governmental organizations. They play important roles in a wide range of settings linking Japan, the United States, and the rest of the world.

ジャパンスタディ(Japan Study)は、1963年から常に日本とアメリカの留学プログラムの先駆者的存在として知られてきました。そして早稲 田の国際部を通じて、早稲田大学の学生に26のリベラルアーツ大学での一年間の留学プログラムを提供しています。留学生は、アメリカ でも高い評価を受けている一流大学でアメリカ人学生と一緒に授業を受けることができます。その26大学は、アメリカでも有名なリベアルアーツ大学であり、 GLCA(Great Lakes Colleges Association) またはACM(Associated Colleges of the Midwest)の参加校です。

What is Japan Study?

All students enrolled in a 4-year American college or university are eligible to apply. Preference is given to qualified applicants from GLCA/ACM colleges. Selection is competitive. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. Acceptance to the program is contingent on completion of at least one semester or term of Japanese language study (or equivalent) prior to departure.
