Last but certainly not least for senior send offs, Andy Ratayczak.

What Andy has learned from being in the Ripon College Theatre Department is that It's better to take more time to do something well than risk having to do it a second time.

After being asked what his favorite Ripon College Theatre Production was, Andy said “The Great American Trailer Park Musical was of course a blast, but I also had a lot of fun running mics for Spoon River Anthology (even though we didn't get to do all the shows.)”

Congratulations, Andy! The Theatre Department will miss you!

Next up for senior send offs, Christian Schmidt!

He was asked if there was anything that he learned while being involved in the Ripon College Theatre Department and he said “I learned to be myself. As much as I enjoy diving into a script and becoming someone else for a theatre production, I learned to be myself with the friends I made along the way. Looking back, the connections I’ve made with others through my time in the theatre department mean the world to me.”
Very well said!
I also asked Christian what his favorite show was that he was involved in in our theatre department. “In the Spring of 2020, I was cast in Comedy of Errors directed by Ken Hill. One of my favorite memories from that show was when I was directed to throw my fellow actor, Wil Bridenhagen, over my shoulder and run around the stage like a madman. Every time we performed this scene, Benstead would absolutely erupt with laughter.”
I wish I could’ve watched that! I included a picture of one of those performances in this post. Super funny!

Thank you, Christian! We appreciate your involvement in the Ripon College Theatre Department.

Next up on our list for senior send off is our vice president, Kylie Zenz!

After being asked what she has learned while being involved the Ripon College Theatre Department, Kylie said “I learned to always look at the positives in any scenario. If it doesn’t seem like there is one, look a little harder.
Kylie said that her favorite show that she was involved in was The Great American Trailer Park Musical. She said “I was stage right ASM/Ropes. I loved the conversations I had with the actors when they were off stage by me.”

We’ll miss Kylie and all of the hard work that she has put into the department behind the scenes!
Best wishes for your next adventure!

As the end of the school year approaches, so does commencement! To honor our APO seniors accomplishments, we are doing senior send offs.
Our first senior send off is for our wonderful president, Rebecca Steinkamp!

Rebecca was asked what she has learned from being involved in the Ripon College Theatre Department and she said “BE YOU! These are some of the kindest and most accepting people you will ever meet! Don’t be afraid to show who you are because there’s someone who’s going to think you’re great :)”.
Rebecca’s favorite show that she was involved with at Ripon was Comedy of Errors because “the energy the cast and crew brought to the show was unmatched”.
Rebecca has done so much for this department, we’ll miss her and we hope the best for her after commencement!

Next up for our Senior Send Offs is Katy Dano!
Katy says that during her time here in the Ripon College Theatre she learned that "persistence and hard work really pays off. You really can do anything you set your mind to"
Katy's favorite show she's worked on during her time at Ripon was our Fall 2019 production of the Fantastiks because "I was a mute. It was hard not talking for a semester but it was awesome acting with my body"
Thank you so much for all your hard work in our department Katy and congratulations on graduating!!

Next up for our Senior Send Offs is Adam Scholze!
One thing Adam has learning in the theatre department is that " Theater is an excellent outlet to have fun and entertain the local peeps while being silly, sometimes outlandish, and always excited nervous to perform." Adam's favorite show he's worked on was last fall's production of After the Blast because "I got to perform one of the most powerful and influencal people in the history of man" he is of course referring to fan favorite Lowes Cartwright who once oversaw robotic transitions and is now overseeing this graduate!
Thank you for all your hard work in our department Adam and Congratulations on graduating!

Next up for our Senior Send Offs is Abbe Lane! Our APO Vice President! Something Abbe learned during her time at APO was "How to step out of my comfort zone and play characters I never imagined I would play in college! I never thought of myself as that great of an actress, but all my directors helped me learn a lot about myself and build my confidence! In my time at Ripon, I’ve played a nun, a stripper, a pregnant woman, a German peasant girl, a murderess, and Abe Lincoln’s first love!" Abbe has two favorite shows she would like to share The Great American Trailer Park Musical and After the Blast! "I did both of these my senior year and I feel like the characters I played were two vastly different people and I love the contrast!" Thank you for all your hard work in our department Abbe and congratulations on Graduating!

Next up for Senior Send Offs is Lanie Kish!
Lanie says that something she learned in the theatre department here at Ripon is that the best moments and performances are the ones born from spontaneity.
Her favorite show that she's worked on was A Long Trip, one of the one acts from our 2019 Senior Directed One Act showcase. Lanie says this show is her favorite because "It was the first show that I did in my college career and it made me fall in love with college theater."
Thank you for all your hard work in our department Lanie and congratulations on graduating!
