On November 1, 1977, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated's Mu Xi Lambda was chartered to serve the Inland Empire of Southern California. Eleven men founded the chapter and began to plan for the future. Eight were military brothers, and three were civilians from chapters across the country. Mu Xi Lambda has been smaller in numbers compared to other chapters, but has been active in the Inland Em
pire, working with The March of Dimes, The San Bernardino Boy's and Girl's Clubs, The Home of Neighborly Services, The Frazier Shelter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Black Infant Adoption, and other projects and programs. Fraternally, our chapter members have held key upper level management positions within the organization. These include District Director, and Secretary, Western Regional Vice President, Executive Director, and Historian. The chapter continues to build and develop an impressive and positive historical profile in the Inland Empire, and throughout the Western Region. It continues to grow in size as it becomes even more active in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
